Former Lotte pitcher Seo Jun-won (23) admitted to committing the crime even though he knew the victim was a minor.
The Busan District Court Criminal Division 5 (Chief Judge Jang Jong-seok) held a second trial on Thursday for Seo, who was charged with violating the Sexual Protection of Children and Adolescents Act (including producing and distributing sexually explicit material), Newsis and News1 reported.
At the first hearing on March 31, Seo admitted to most of the charges but claimed that he “did not know that the victim was a minor.” However, on the same day, he changed his words and said, “I admit to all the charges.”안전놀이터
According to prosecutors, Seo Jun-won is accused of sending sexual messages and requesting nude photos of his body after getting to know Miss A through an open chat room on KakaoTalk on August 18 last year. He pretended to give Miss A pocket money and sent sexual messages to her 60 times, and then sent her nude photos seven times to create sexual exploitation.
Seo was released by Lotte in March after the crimes were revealed and was suspended by the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO). Seo, who was drafted by Lotte in the first round in 2019, had a career record of 15-23 with a 5.56 ERA in 123 KBO games.
