Gangwon FS (hereafter referred to as Gangwon) recorded their first win after defeating Cheongju Palacio FS (hereinafter referred to as Cheongju) 4-2 in the second round of the ‘KFL 22-23 FK League Dream League’ held at the National Sports Center in Danyang, Chungcheongbuk-do on the 18th.
Gangwon is a new team that was founded last year (2021) and after preparing for a year, participated in the Dream League, the second division of the Korean Professional Futsal League in the 2022-2023 season. The team is based in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, and is the only team in Gangwon-do to participate in the FK League.
In the 22-23 season FK League, the Super League opened on the 10th, and the Dream League opened on the 17th. Gangwon lost 4:5 in their FK League debut against DreamHub Gunsan FS (hereinafter referred to as Gunsan) on the 17th, but caught Cheongju in the second round match the following day.
Gangwon, who took the lead with Seo Jin-young’s goal in the first half, took a two-goal lead with Seo Jin-young scoring multiple goals once again at the start of the second half. In the 4th minute of the second half, Woo Hee-Jun’s free kick like a cannon ball predicted a great victory 3-0. However, Cheongju’s counterattack was also formidable. They caught up with two goals one after another and narrowed the gap to 3-2.
In Gangwon, the moment the atmosphere was pushed by the opponent’s pursuit, Kim Young-rok, the solver, stepped up. Kim Young-rok, who scored two goals in his FK League debut match against Gunsan the previous day, scored a key goal in the 14th minute of the second half to break the opponent’s pursuit. Afterwards, Cheongju pulled the reins of the chase, but Park Yeong-wan made saves every day with a go-lay, and the game ended with Gangwon winning 4-2.
