The Korean duo of Lim Jong-hoon (KEX) and Shin Yoo-bin (KOR) have reached the round of 16 as they continue their quest for a World Championships medal.

“Last year, I had a lot of pain after one match, but now that I’ve been playing a lot, I feel a lot happier,” said Shin, who was unable to play much due to a stress fracture in her right wrist at the 2021 World Table Tennis Championships in Houston two years ago. She added that she hasn’t felt any physical strain yet.
Shin Yubin also made it to the round of 16 in the women’s doubles, partnered with Jeon Ji-hee (Mirae Asset Securities). Lim Jong-hoon also reached the round of 16 in the men’s doubles with Jang Woo-jin (Armed Forces Athletic Corps).
In the day’s mixed doubles round of 32, Cho Dae-sung (Samsung Life) and Kim Na-young (POSCO International) also joined the round of 16 with a close 3-2 (12-14, 11-6, 8-11, 11-6, 11-9) win over Canada’s Eugene Wang and Mo Zhang.
