As the Taegeuk Boys of South Korea reached the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023, FIFA took notice of the only Asian team to reach the quarterfinals.
The South Korean U-20 soccer team, led by head coach Kim Eun-joong, won their U-20 World Cup Round of 16 match against Ecuador 3-2 in Argentina on June 2 (KST).
Immediately after the match, FIFA published a post on its official website announcing the victory, which included a highlight video and a text summary of the match in about two minutes.
“The Taegeuk Warriors defeated Ecuador to advance to the quarterfinals of the U-20 World Cup, where they will face Nigeria,” FIFA said of the South Korean team, which has reached the quarterfinals of two consecutive tournaments. “This is the fourth consecutive victory over South American nations in what has been their most dominant showing at the tournament.”스포츠토토
